Smart meters are advanced energy meters which help manage energy efficiently. Unlike conventional meters, these digital monitors provide real-time monitoring of energy consumption for monitoring and billing purposes. Smart meters are commonly used in most developed countries, to measure electricity, water, and gas usage for both commercial and residential properties.

Major OEM and component manufacturers including Amphenol ICC are collaborating to help data center designers shed their proprietary outlook and go open source. 

Open Compute Alliance
